Private emails from GARM's Rob Rakowitz acknowledged that GARM’s activities could get them "into hot water by way of anticompetitive and collusive behaviors," prompting him to advise members to handle boycotts in 1:1 discussions rather than publicly. Following the release of the report, GARM announced it would cease operations in August 2024, citing the legal costs of fighting the investigation rather than admitting wrongdoing. Rob Rakowitz GARM World Federation of Advertisers (WFA), Christian Juhl CEO GroupM, Herrish Patel President Unilever USA, and GARM's Executive leadership team have not been charged with criminal activity to date.
