Thousands of US companies have abruptly ended their discriminatory hiring process of race based employment along quotas versus industry standard ability and skill based onboarding. Adobe has finally followed suit. Well, kind of.
Adobe has made the change in pursuit of ethical hiring practices only due to fear of legal repercussions as their previous racist based quotas and internal company inititives prevented hiring top talent based on their biological sex or skin color. (1) Listening to Gloria Chen, EVP Chief People Officer at Adobe, openly state they do not hire along quota's while simultaneously stating they will now stop hiring along quota's is not just bizarre it's as Lunduke states in his review of their Town Hall "just fantastic". Corporate dopes running DEI and benefiting from it.
"We have never hired based on quotas or goals, but going forward we will discontinue the practice of setting aspirational representation goals."
~ Adobe EVP Chief People Officer, Gloria Chen
Malicious compliance is something recruiters and hiring managers should be aware of as there can be legal consequences for following the orders of a superior despite knowing that compliance with the orders will have an unintended or negative result.
"As the future of work changes, improving digital workspaces to make them more inclusive matters more than ever," yet Adobe ignored the fact that 50% of its entire employee base refused to sign their discriminatory race based DEI corporate policies. (2) Fighting racism and bigotry is not complicated. The best way to end discrimation is to stop discriminating. Yet, financially backed incentives funded by big banks was something many corporations could not turn down, regardless of how illegal or immoral it was.
Adobe will now be forced to end at least their discriminatory hiring practices, as they and these five woke companies (Kohl's, Dollar Tree, Disney, Nationwide, & UPS) are just rebranding their woke policies by calling DEI by a new name: “Belonging.” (3) Apparently they will learn through litigation the same way CBS/Paramount has after (AFL) American First legal sued and won for discriminating against an individual based on race, sex or sexual preference; Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Hiring based on merit should be the 'favored hiring group.'
Adobe seems oblivious to their staggeringly hypocritical mantra "Adobe For All" as they pick and choose candidates not based on merit, but based solely on the color of their skin or biological sex and eliminated other's based solely on the color or their skin or biological sex. Stopping discrimination would actually be genuine of them ALL to do, but it seems rooted in their culture. So when you see that subscribe call-to-action for an Adobe product, look for an alternative.
